Scrollworks Peak Slammer Peak Slammer works byscaling down any peaks above a given threshold. We call this "slamming". Itdiffers from standard compression in that instead of applying the scalingafter a threshold is reached, any peak that exceeds the threshold is scaleddown fro the previous zero-crossing to the next zero-crossing. Because thefirst zero-crossing may have already occurred before the threshold wasreached, there is a half second buffer that will be noticeable if used inreal-time.In order to use Peak Slammer, you'll need an audio editing program thatsupports DirectX audio plug-ins, such as Sonic Foundry's Sound Forge.
