ImageView is a simple, robust network capable imaging system database package. It provides a means of indexing images (or ANY other files) to a database for easy searching, retrieval, viewing, and batch printing. This is ideal for businesses, offices, and shops dealing with many blueprints, for example. ImageView supports unlimited number of users across both LANs and WANs and is compatible with many image formats, such as tif, dwg, bmp and jpg. ?/font>What Does it Do? Suppose your company uses many scanned blueprints or CAD drawings. Also, suppose you spend time looking for these existing part and assembly drawings in your daily tasks. Wouldn't it be nice, if you could enter in a few key words (part numbers, dimensions, etc.) and be able to quickly access the drawing files (scanned images, graphics, CAD files, etc.) that are related to those key words? Well, you should probably try ImageView. ?/font>How Does it Work? Run ImageView, to bring up the Main Menu.First, set the Configuration Preferences in ImageView. This includes the location path to the database (where the files and database table will be saved) and the path from where the files will be pulled. Note: these paths can be on the local computer, or even on a network (where many users can simultaneously access the files).Next, Index the files (tif, dwg, prt, tap, etc.) into a location on your computer or network. This is done through Index feature of ImageView. During this process, you simply point to each file, enter in an index name, key word descriptors, and click the "Index File" button. Now, the existing indexed files in the system can be easily retrieved by keywords. With ImageView's Search feature, you can search by file name or by keywords. To search by key words, simply enter in key words, surrounded by the wildcard "*" and click the "Search DB" button. All relative entries appear in the table. To view the files, simply click the "View Drawings" button. The available files will appear to the right of the screen as thumbnails. You can then double-click each for viewing, printing, etc. ?/font>Other Uses (File Types)ImageView works with more than image files. It is actually compatible with any file type that your PC recognizes. For example: mp3's, doc's, text files, pdf's , avi's, and even exe's can be indexed and retrieved using ImageView! The associated program on your PC can then be executed by clicking the image thumbnail to view, play, watch, or run the retrieved file!
